A Special Note From Bill and Tracie
To our wonderful patrons and team members,
After nearly 30 seasons of adventures along the Pacific shores of North America, it is time for Tracie and I to plot a course into the remote and sublime archipelago known as retirement.
When I bought M/V Catalyst and formed Pacific Catalyst around her, I was primarily motivated by a love for old wooden boats, an affliction I acquired in my youth. So much so that I added the first purpose built Alaskan expedition ship, M/V Westward, to the operation a decade or so later. After a lifetime, our love for these ships remains undiminished, enriched by an intimate connection to our cruising destinations and the remarkable individuals we’ve encountered—evolving from passengers to friends. This journey culminates in the profound joy of working alongside our exceptional crew members.
As we prepare to hand off stewardship of our boats and program, we do so confident that we have found the right person to carry forward our vision. We have found a generational steward who combines our love for old wooden boats with the necessary business and communications tools to steer Pacific Catalyst forward in our increasingly digitally-dependent world. His vision and experience assure us that both Pacific Catalyst and the boats will be well cared for under his watch. His name is Jordan Elliott, and you will be hearing from him soon.
The elements we have deployed over the years; a superb crew, extraordinary cuisine, our historic yachts and our cruising grounds in SE Alaska, Washington’s Salish Sea and Mexico’s Sea of Cortez, will remain untouched. The company will grow its social media presence and business plan to not only maintain our level of service, but to expand the adventure into new waters, both literal and electronic.
To everyone who has trusted us across the years to provide a once in a lifetime experience, we humbly thank you. Your patronage allowed us to restore and maintain our historic vessels and to have adventures we never thought possible. Tracie and I hope that as we ease into a more shore-based life at our home in Baja California Sur, Mexico, that we will not lose touch with you, our dear friends.
With our warmest regards,
Bill Bailey & Tracie Triolo
